The son of a big New York City real-estate investor is accusing his father of “familial treachery” in a new $54 million lawsuit over the sale of a Tribeca building.
Jonathan Penner says his dad, Arnold Penner, head of United Capital and co-owner of P.J. Clarke’s restaurant in Midtown, duped him into unloading his one-third share in 250 Church St. for a mere $300,000 when it was really worth $27 million, the suit says.
“In a shocking display of familial treachery, fraud and overweening greed . . . Arnold Penner defrauded his son by inducing him into surrendering his valuable interest in” the property, the suit says.
Jonathan, 49, who lives in Florida, bought a 32.5 percent interest in the commercial building sometime after 1999 when his father first purchased it, according to court papers.
