Seattle real estate firm Redfin opens Honolulu office

Redfin, a Seattle-based residential real estate firm, has opened its first office in Hawaii in Honolulu, as part of the company's nationwide expansion plan.

Redfin said Wednesday that Oahu-nativeMike DeMello, who formerly was a partner for Honolulu-based Locations, formerly known as Prudential Locations, will lead the Honolulu office.

The company, which was founded in 2006, uses Multiple Listing Service listings, a website and agents to sell residential real estate.
