THE real estate agents didn’t think it was worth it but a three-bedroom, one-bathroom Parkdale house has sold for $1.031 million.

In what O’Brien Real Estate Mentone’s James Zweck called “a crazy result”, six frantic bidders pushed the property’s price $131,000 above the reserve.

O’Brien Mentone director Byron Kerr said when bidding pushed the $1 million dollar mark he thought the Randell St property “wasn’t worth that”.

But Mr Kerr said the bidders were hooked.

“The buyers were emotional about it, and so caught up in it, that we were able to achieve that result,” Mr Kerr said.

The weatherboard home, which sits on 462sq metres a few blocks from Parkdale beach, was originally valued between $850,000 and $900,000.
