FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) — A man accused of shooting and killing a prospective home buyer while he and his wife were looking at a home is behind bars.
Vincent Reniard Stanley, of Lauderhill, is facing a charge of first-degree murder.
Deputies said, on February 26th, Kenol Jean, 51, and his wife visited a Fort Lauderdale home that was up for sale.
When they entered the home, deputies said, Stanley went in through the open front door carrying a gun.
That’s when Stanley tried to rob Jean for his chain but ended up shooting him after Jean allegedly rushed him, Stanley told his accomplice.
Jean was later rushed to the hospital where he died.
Detectives said surveillance video shows Stanley talking to the driver of a white Pontiac Grand Am before the shooting and then getting a ride in that vehicle afterward.
That’s what led them to the driver of the Grand Am, who deputies identified as 48-year old Israel Brown. He was taken into custody on March 2nd on charges of accessory after the fact to murder.
Two days later, Stanley was arrested.
